UGC-NET exam cancelled: Congress calls government ‘paper leak government’ and wonders if the education minister will now take responsibility.
UGC-NET June 2024 exam cancellation news: Congress leaders Mallikarjun Karge, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other opposition leaders lashed out at the Centre after the education ministry cancelled UGC-NET on Wednesday evening, saying the ‘integrity of the exam must have been compromised’.
Mallikarjun Karge also attacked the government over alleged irregularities in the NEET medical entrance exam and asked when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a ‘Discussion on NEET exam’.
The Congress called the Narendra Modi-led government a “leaked government” and wondered if the education minister will now take responsibility.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra slammed the Centre over the developments in UGC-NET 2024 and demanded improved accountability.
In a Hindi post
The Congress leader said, “This is the defeat of the Modi government’s arrogance due to which it has made a despicable attempt to crush the future of our youth.”
Mallikarjun Karg also said that the Union Education Minister had earlier said that there was no paper leak in NEET, but when education mafias were caught in Bihar, Gujarat and Haryana, the minister “admitted that some fraud had taken place”. “When will the NEET exam be cancelled?” the senior Congress leader asked.
Karg also said, “Modi ji, take responsibility for your government’s fraud and stopping the paper leak in the NEET exam.”
Meanwhile, the Congress party alleged that the Modi government was playing with the future of the youth.
“Yesterday the UGC-NET exam was conducted in different cities of the country. Today the exam was cancelled on suspicion of paper leak. First the NEET paper was leaked and now the UGC-NET paper has been leaked. The Modi government has become a ‘paper leak government,'” the Congress posted on Twitter.
In a sharp reaction to the cancellation of the exam, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also alleged that the BJP government’s “corruption and laxity” was harming the youth.
“After reports of fraud in the NEET exam, the NET exam held on June 18 was also cancelled due to suspicion of irregularities. Will accountability be fixed now? Will the education minister take responsibility for this laxity?” asked Priyanka Gandhi in a Hindi post.
Amid the growing controversy over the NEET medical entrance exam, the Union Education Ministry has ordered the cancellation of UGC-NET and handed over the matter to the CBI for investigation.
The ministry has also sought a report from the Economic Offences Unit of Bihar Police on alleged irregularities in the conduct of the National Eligibility Test (UG) 2024 for admission in Patna and said further action will be taken based on the report.
Big conspiracy against the country: Akhilesh Yadav
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav suspects a “big conspiracy hatched by someone against the country”.
“…and now after the news of irregularities, the UGC-NET exam has also been cancelled. In the BJP rule, paper mafias are rigging every exam one by one. This could also be someone’s big conspiracy against the country,” he wrote in Hindi on the X website.
“Understand the deeper meaning: – If the police recruitment exam paper is leaked, the law and order situation will not improve. As a result, there will be unrest and instability in the country and the state. – If there is fraud in the NEET exam, honest people will not be able to become doctors, there will be an additional shortage of doctors to treat the people of the country in the future and dishonest people will become a threat to the lives of the public – Due to the shortage, Akhilesh Yadav said that the UGC-NET exam will further increase the already existing shortage of teachers, which will be very fatal for the country in the future.
“…This could be a very big conspiracy against the administration and human resources of our country, which will have far-reaching negative consequences. He said: “Therefore, this matter should be thoroughly investigated under the supervision of the court, the culprits should be given maximum punishment, and no culprit should be kept in custody, no matter what his size or the influence he has on it.” .”
‘Education emergency’: Shiv Sena (UBT)
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi alleged that the repeated and utter failure to conduct the national exams fairly exposes the NTA’s incompetence. “This is an educational emergency and is also disappointing a large number of students who are diligently preparing for these entrance exams, without forgetting the psychological pressure they are under, cancellation is not a solution, this is a complete neglect on the part of the government and the NTA towards the young students and their career is unfortunate.”
Shiv Sena (Uttar Pradesh)’s Aditya Thackeray also reacted to the Centre’s order. “Educational emergency. But the central dispensation doesn’t care about the number of students. “They are just focusing on PR.”
“NTA Blocked”: NSUI
The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) has called for immediate action against the NTA. The NSUI, the student wing of the Indian National Congress (INC), said in a statement that the developments have once again highlighted serious concerns over the integrity and security of exams conducted by the NTA.
NSUI president Varun Chaudhary appealed to the education minister to take immediate and decisive action, including banning the NTA and initiating legal action against its officials.
