Pune car accident: Teen’s father and five others sent to judicial custody

A court here on Friday sent Vishal Aggarwal, father of a 17-year-old youth who killed two people in a car accident in the city’s Kalyani Nagar area, and five other accused in the case on remand till June 7. He requested for extension of his police custody for further investigation.

Porsche accident Pune: Vishal Agarwal, father of a teenager involved in the death of two people in a car accident in Pune on May 19, was on Friday sent to judicial custody till June 7.

Aggarwal, a real estate developer who was on the run after the incident, was arrested on May 21 in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad).

On May 19, a Porsche car driven by his minor son hit two software professionals riding a motorcycle in Kalyani Nagar.

Meanwhile, PTI quoted officials as saying that the case has been transferred to the crime branch of Yerwada police station.

Judicial custody till June 7

The prosecution requested for extension of his police custody for further investigation, which ended on Friday (May 24). However, Agarwal’s lawyer Prashant Patel said there was no need for police custody. Furthermore, the court sent Agarwal to judicial custody till June 7.

Five others also sent to cudicial custody

Additional Sessions Judge SP Bankshi also ordered the custody of the owner and employees of two establishments serving liquor till June 7.

The other accused are Cozy Restaurant owner Nauman Bhutada and his manager Sachin Katkar. Black Club director Sandeep Sangle and his employees Jayesh Gawkar and Nitish Shivani.

What FIR says

According to the FIR, despite knowing that his son did not have a valid driving license, Aggarwal (50) gave him the car, putting the teen’s life in danger and allowing him to party, PTI reported. Went, even though Aggarwal knew that she was drunk.

Police wanted to know bank details

Seeking remand in police custody, the prosecution told the court that Kishore had paid a bill of Rs 47,000 at Kosi restaurant that night, and the police wanted to know the details of the bank account from which the payment was made.

Agarwal also charged with section 420

According to PTI, the prosecutor said that section 420 (cheating) of the IPC has been added to the charges against Agarwal over non-payment of RTO fees towards the Porsche’s registration.

Top cop says want to make watertight case

Pune Police Chief said on Friday that they are trying to make the case concrete. Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said an attempt was made to tamper with the evidence to show that the Porsche was being driven by a family driver and not the 17-year-old arrested in connection with her death.

“He (Kishore) was in complete control and was fully aware that his behavior could lead to an incident where Section 304 is invoked,” PTI quoted Kumar as saying.

On allegations of preferential treatment to teen

Amitesh Kumar said that ACP rank officers are investigating the allegation. Regarding reports that pizza was served at the event after the incident, Kumar said, “We have clearly said that the pizza party did not take place at the police station. But yes, something did happen and we have started an internal investigation into it. ” ,
