Ahead of the hearing before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), the Pune Police has added some additional sections against the 17-year-old accused. Sections 185 (driving by a person under the influence of alcohol), Section 184 (action against those who violate traffic rules through careless or dangerous driving), 119 (maximum age in relation to driving a motor vehicle) and 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
