Jitu Patwari Statements about BJP #2024 Election

Jitu Patwari has been charged with making offensive statements about BJP politician Imarti Devi. ‘Congress mentality,’ states Jyotiraditya Scindia

Jitu Patwari, the head of the Madhya Pradesh Congress, was booked on Friday for allegedly making disparaging statements against Imarti Devi, the state BJP leader, which caused a stir and drew ire from the ruling party.

A senior police official stated that a FIR was filed in Dabra town, Gwalior, on the allegation of Imarti Devi against Patwari, who has now apologised for the statement.

It all began when a woman was heard endorsing the Congress candidates for the Lok Sabha seats in Bhind and Gwalior in an audio tape that went viral on social media. It was said that the voice belonged to Imarti Devi, a former MLA from Dabra in the Gwalior district.

The former minister Imarti Devi, however, called it a plot and denied that it was her voice heard in the audio clip.

In response to questions on the audio tape and the ex-MLA’s denial, Patwari is accused of using the popular sweet ‘imarti’ as a wordplay to make some harsh statements.

Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Mohan Yadav lashed out at Patwari, asking, “Where is Priyanka Gandhi, the general secretary of the Congress, who used to say that ladki hoon lad sakti hoon? She ought to now take on her own state president, who disparaged Imarti Devi in his remarks. Even saying it aloud makes one feel guilty.” “The character of the Congress is to insult women.

Patwari ought to step down from his position right away. On this matter, Congress ought to act strictly,” the CM continued.

India also chastised Patwari. “This is not simply what he said; this is the Congress party as a whole. This party has made disparaging Dalits—especially women—a regular occurrence. The country’s Dalits and women have been motivated to strive for respect by Babasaheb Ambedkar,” Scindia said late on Thursday night on X.

The BJP contender for the Guna Lok Sabha seat, Scindia, posted a video of Patwari’s statement and threatened to exact retribution on the Madhya Pradesh Dalit community for the insensitive remark regarding Imarti Devi. On Friday morning at around three in the morning, Patwari took to X to apologise for the remark.

“One of my claims is misrepresented and given the incorrect context. All I wanted to do was stay out of the question.

Imarti Devi said in a video message that she asked to God to grant Congressmen discernment. “They shouldn’t talk about Dalit women in this manner. Although Patwari is a young man, senior party leaders have previously made multiple remarks along these lines,” the speaker stated. Krishna Gaur, the MP minister, spoke at a press conference endorsing Imarti Devi, calling her a “strong representative of Dalit woman power”.

“This is an affront not just to Imarti Devi but also to the nation’s women’s power and the Scheduled Castes. This demonstrates the fundamental nature of Congress. Whenever they have the chance, they disparage women, according to Gaur.

She also questioned Sonia, the previous president of Congress, for her quiet.
