Abhijit Ganguly, a BJP candidate, is prohibited by the EC from campaigning for a full day.

Abhijit Ganguly, the BJP’s nominee for Tamluk, was censured by the Election Commission of India and was prohibited from campaigning for a whole day starting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

Ganguly has received a warning to use caution when speaking in public while the Model Code of Conduct is in effect.
Following a speech by Ganguly on May 15 at a rally in Haldia under the Tamluk Lok Sabha seat in which he made some offensive remarks against chief minister Mamata Banerjee, the Trinamul Congress has filed a protest with the federal poll commission.
