The rides at the Cornish theme park will be closed.

According to Flambards, Sky Force is one of the rides that will close.

A Cornwall tourist destination has announced that it would be discontinuing a number of its rides.

The “ongoing shortage” of specialised parts for maintenance, according to Flambards Theme Park in Helston, has forced the closure of several of its biggest rides.

It announced a lower ticket price upon reopening and a short closure from June 10 to July 1 while the machinery was removed.

There was nothing more that Flambards could offer, a representative informed the tazaworld.

UK-wide “challenge”:

“After many years of faithful service, we are sadly retiring a number of our thrill rides,” the company wrote in a post on Flambards’ website. This includes the Hornet Rollercoaster, Sky Swinger, Thunderbolt, and Sky Force, some of which are scheduled to depart the location soon. The statement stated that although the choice was “not made lightly,” the visitors’ safety “is and always will be our top priority.”

“We knew that the recovery of the visitor economy, including attractions, would take a long time after lockdown was lifted,” said Bernard Donoghue, director of the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions, in an interview with the BBC.”The challenge to get back visitor numbers back to pre-pandemic levels and to profitable sustainability is UK-wide,” states the UK’s tourism board. “The tourism industry has reopened to increased inflationary costs, huge energy bills, and a cost-of-living crisis with visitors spending less and visiting less frequently.”

The decision to tear down the rides, according to Flambards, was “not made lightly”.

The park’s modifications had prompted speculation among the local populace.

Mike Hill, a car valet based in Helston, stated: “I believe they simply lack the resources to fix the rides and bring them up to code.”

As to the statement made by resident Chris Jolly, “I would say selling off your biggest rides is not a good sign, really.”

He continued by saying that many young people who had worked at the theme park throughout the years would be impacted if it closed.

In less than a day, more than 1,500 individuals commented on the announcement on social media, expressing their displeasure, rage, and nostalgia for the theme park.

When the theme park reopened for “an exciting summer season” next month, it claimed it was excited to see guests again.
