PM Modi will visit the memorial of rockstar Vivekananda and meditate there for the entire day and night
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari to meditate from May 30 to June 1 to mark the conclusion of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) sources said PM Modi will visit the place where Swami Vivekananda meditated and had a vision of ‘Bharat Mata’.

Sources said there were other reasons behind PM Modi’s choice, including a message of unity and affection for Tamil Nadu, where he has invested a lot of his political capital this time. Kanyakumari is said to be the southernmost point of the Indian mainland, where three oceans – Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean – meet, as well as its place in Hindu mythology as the place where Goddess Parvati meditated with her feet and met Lord Shiva.

Prime Minister Modi’s Kanyakumari visit is reminiscent of his Kedarnath visit (where he also meditated in a famous hut) at the end of the 2019 Lok Sabha election campaign and his Pratapgarh visit to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the end of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

The seventh and final phase of polling for the Lok Sabha elections begins on May 30 and voting is scheduled for June 1 for 57 seats in seven states and one Union Territory (Chandigarh).

New Delhi: Continuing his practice of visiting a major Hindu pilgrimage site at the peak of election campaigning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meditate in Kanyakumari for two days from May 30 to June 1 after taking a break from the intense election campaign.
The Prime Minister will visit the Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari and meditate at the same spot where Swami Vivekananda meditated at Dhyan Mandapam from the evening of May 30 to the evening of June 1, sources said.
