New Delhi/Pune: Peoni, who was arrested along with two doctors yesterday for tampering with the blood test report of a 17-year-old accused in the Pune Porsche crash case, had handed over a bribe of Rs 3 lakh to the doctors. Sources said.
Sources say peon Atul Ghatkamble acted as an intermediary and collected ₹3 lakh as bribe from Kishore’s family for two doctors.

Dr. Ajay Tawde and Dr. Hari Harnoor of Sassoon Hospital were arrested by the Pune Crime Branch yesterday.

Investigation revealed that Dr. Tawadi and the father of the juvenile accused had talked on the phone on the day of the accident. “The teen’s father called the doctor and tempted him to change the blood samples,” police said.

It turned out that Dr. Tower had indicated that the small blood samples should be replaced with the doctor’s blood samples. Officials said samples were exchanged to remove traces of alcohol.

During the investigation he said, “I will not remain silent. I will record everyone’s name.”

Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar had yesterday said that the samples collected at the hospital and sent for forensic testing were not those of the accused teenagers.

“On May 19, around 11 am, blood sample (of the teenager) taken from Sassoon Hospital was thrown in the garbage and blood sample of another person was taken and sent to the forensic laboratory. During investigation, we found CMO ,” Mr Kumar said while addressing the media. “Srihari Halanur changed it on the instructions of Ajay Tawde, head of the forensic department at Sassoon Hospital.”

No trace of alcohol was found in the report received on Sunday after the minor’s blood samples were changed. However, CCTV footage from one of the bars he visited that night showed him drinking with friends.
